Proposed Change in the “L” Residential Parking Boundary

Dear Neighbor:

On behalf of the FHCA Board, we encourage you to sign the “petition” below in support of reducing the reach of the “L” residential parking boundaries, while extending the parking restriction time from 9 am – 6 pm two hours to 9 am – 8 pm.

This is in response to proposed parking and traffic mitigation changes by the University of San Francisco (USF) and the San Francisco Municipal Transit Agency (SFMTA).

USF has pledged their support of the requested changes listed below with regards to both the size of the “L” Residential Parking Permit (RPP) area and the time that the “L” sticker will be in effect.

The “L” RPP area has grown since its original inception, with streets added that are located west of Arguello, north of Geary, and south of Fulton all becoming part of a much larger area.

With the current 6 pm end time, people who do not have “L” stickers know they can come into the area around 4 pm and leave their cars in place until 11 am the next morning, which has negatively impacted many of our neighbors.

In order for the proposal to be passed by SFMTA, we need a positive response from each block, with a majority of the property owners in the FHCA area responding.

Otherwise, we will end up creating an area where some blocks will still have a 6 pm stop time and others will have 8 pm and it will be very difficult for SFMTA to monitor the area.  (This has been a potential problem in other areas).

If you are in agreement, please respond by April 19th to Libby or Bob.

In your response, please print your name(s) and address and list the proposed changes, and state that you support them.

If you would like to respond in letter form, please sign and return to Libby or Bob.

Many thanks for your time, energy, and support,

Bob, Libby and the entire FHCA Board of Directors
